Digital Realty Trust, Inc. Acquires New Datacentre and Begins Construction of a New Development Project in Dublin, Ireland.
Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: DLR), a leading owner and manager of corporate datacentres and Internet gateways, announced today the acquisition of Unit 9, Blanchardstown Corporate Park in Dublin, Ireland. The purchase price for the datacentere facility was 36.3 million euros. The property consists of a 120,000 square foot datacentre facility, which is being managed by Digital Realty Trust, and is currently 90% leased.
The Company also announced that it received approvals and has begun construction on a new 120,000 square foot datacentre on land it acquired in Dublin in early 2006 in the Clonshaugh Industrial Estate. Digital Realty Trust acquired the 2.6 acres as part of the acquisition of a 20,000 square foot datacentre facility, which it subsequently leased to a major U.S. internet enterprise. The Company has also launched its European operations with personnel located in its London and Dublin offices to manage its Turn-Key Datacentres(TM) and build-to-suit datacentres operations, and Critical Facilities Management(TM).
